DO YOU KNOW WHAT DEVICE DRIVER IS? Is this what we usually see when installing a new computer or install a webcam. Device drivers generally either come with our operating system, or we install them from a CD. But, like any software, drivers are upgraded and updated, by the manufacturers, to remove bugs, add extra functionality to the hardware or to improve the performance of the device. Unless you update your drivers regularly you may face problems ranging from the relatively minor such as having hardwarethat seems buggy and poorly performing, to the more major such as hardwarefailures, conflicts and complete system crashes.
Most of the drivers can be downloaded from the manufacturer websites, but it's a difficult task because some time you even don't know the manufacturer name or the manufacturer has stopped their business. WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN? There are many reasons that a Device Manager will list a device asunknown and hence, there is no foolproof way to troubleshoot theerror. Some of the causes for Unknown Device error are: • The hardware does not have the requisite software drivers, andWindows is not able to determine the device type • The driver is not compatible with the OS and hence it is not ableto inform Windows about the hardware. This is common if aWindows 9x/ME driver is installed on Windows 2000/XP. • Each hardware component should normally communicate a basic device ID to Windows.
7/17/18 - This is an original French SACM model 1935A pistol. I believe the 'D' letter prefix on the serial number puts this around 1944 production. The pistol is not nazi proofed. The black finish is very nice, but there is some edge wear and small 'chips' in the black finish. The bore is nice and clean with strong rifling and only minor signs. It won the 1935–37 competition to produce the new French military sidearm. Initial production began in 1937, and the pistol began delivery to the French Army in late 1939, with a total of about 10,700 pistols built before German forces occupied the SACM factory in the summer of 1940.

Sacm 1935 A Serial Numbers
We believe it to take a 7.65 / .32 french long ammo. Looks to be a SACM m1935-A. It is outfitted witha lanyard loop for use by French Policia. It has a 766a (F?) serial number. As of now, we can not find a war pruf stamp that would indicate that it was possessed by the Third Reich. The F we believe, indicates that it was made after France was Liberated. Trying to get better pictures, but this is what we have.
